David Barrie – Oatlands

Currently I serve on several CountrySide committees and as the Oatlands representative to the Board of Directors. I would like the opportunity to continue my service to Oatlands and CountrySide. I feel it is important to give back to the community, both Oatlands and CountrySide, the preservation of our open space and the upkeep of our properties are paramount to me. CountrySide includes Horsepen Run a fantastic wetlands nature preserve of over 370 acres that needs to be protected for the community to enjoy.

I strongly support annual home exterior inspections to ensure the value of CountrySide properties are being maintained. Maintaining the beauty of our common area is also important to me as that serves to enrich property values. Over the years that I have been a member of the Board of Directors, CountrySide has been financially prudent, balancing the requests of the residents, the expenses of a multi-million dollar operational budget and the requirements to maintain our reserves for the future expenses.

My commitment to Oatlands and CountrySide reflects my enjoyment of living in a community which fosters property appreciation, maintenance of our CountrySide grounds and financial responsibility.

Robert King – Belmont

I would like the opportunity to continue serving you, the residents of Belmont, as your representative on the Board of Directors. For those of you who do not know me, I have been a homeowner in CountrySide since 1986 along with my wife Karen. We have three adult sons and I have been active in the community throughout the years, volunteering with the schools, youth sports, and CountrySide. During my tenure on the Board and as Treasurer, my main focus has been to ensure that CountrySide’s finances are strong. As a result, we have been able to provide our residents with the amenities they enjoy–the pool, trails, Horsepen Run among others–and which protect our property values without having to raise your assessments year after year. I will work to ensure
your assessments dollars continue to be spent prudently and that we continue to maintain CountrySide’s attraction as a great place to live.

Penelope Francke – Oakridge

I have been a CountrySide resident since 2005, and I have represented Oakridge on the HOA Board of Directors since August 2016. Since January 2017, I have served as Vice President of the Board, and Chair of the Facilities Committee. I enjoybeing involved with the community, and getting to know our residents, and I am interested in continuing to serve CountrySide as my neighborhood’s advocte on the Board. I hold a Masters in Business Administation and I am a certified Project Manager (PMP); I believe my 25+ years of experience in management and customer service will help me represent the interests of Oakridge within the CountrySide community.

Jennifer Michael – Morven

As a resident of Countryside Community since 2010, I wish to submit my candidacy for a position on the Board because I have a vested interest in ensuring the safety and well being of my community. I value Countryside for its high standard of living in Loudoun County and for its parklike feel with trails all around. Furthermore, Countryside is a well-established community filled with a wide range of age groups and cultural diversity making it a family-friendly place to live.

I fell in love with Countryside the first time I drove down Algonkian 8 years ago. I remember saying, let’s move out here from Fairfax — away from the “hustle and bustle”. Oh how our community has changed. In my daily life, I have come across a lot of former residents of Countryside. Whenever I hear former residents speak of Countryside, they speak with such fondness and pride. They always say, “I wish I stayed there”. I want to continue that essence of pride and joy about the community I resdie. I don’t want to say I wish I stayed there. Rather, I want to say, “I do live here and I love it here for many more years to come”. I want my kids to be proud to in live in this well-established neighborhood that embraces diversity and a sense of shared duty to keep this place safe, clean, and modern. Modern in a sense that we do not get left behind with Loudoun’s fast pace of growth.

I am submitting my candidacy for a position on the Board to support the Board in handling all matters regarding the community with full consideration of future generations. We should think of not just the now but the tomorrow generations and not get left behind like other neighboring communities. Our property values depend on our continued diligence in addressing issues of the fast growing pace of Loudoun County. Countryside should remain in competition with other upcoming housing communities as a sought after community for its schools, community pride in ownership and beautiful parks and trails. There should be no comparison to Cascade, Lowes Island, and Ashburn. Countryside offer a wide variety of housing sizes to accommodate all budgets. Our owner occupied homes are well maintained and shines with pride of ownership because our community stays engaged and concerned.

I am offering my services to the Board with certification in data analytics and masters degree in conflict resolution. I have served on the following boards/committee and other roles:

  1. PTA Board at Riverbend Middle School – Secretary 2017
  2. Arts Committee for the Town of Leesburg 2015
  3. Member of the Society for Human Resources Management

Thank you to everyone who came to our Winter Celebration last Saturday!  About 100 people came to say hello to Santa and enjoyed Christmas Cookies generously donated by Walmart.  Santa Claus handed out Candy Canes donated by CVS Pharmacy.  Be sure and stop by these stores to say thank you!  Thank you also to the volunteers who helped make this a wonderful event!

We are MOVING!

After many years at 6 Pidgeon Hill Drive, Suite 120, the CountrySide Board of Directors has voted to move our CountrySide Proprietary office to 2 Pidgeon Hill Drive, Suite 560. The new offices are located on the fifth floor of the building just across the side parking lot from the current offices.

We will be in 6 Pidgeon Hill Drive, Suite 120 until December 21, 2018 conducting resident business. During the Holiday week of December 24 to December 28, 2018, our office will be closed as we will be moving our furniture, phones, computers, and files.

However, the drop box at the old office location will be available only until November 30, 2018. There will NOT be a drop box at the new location. The Office will be available during business hours only, Monday thru Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, on the 5th Floor, for those who pay their assessments at the Office. We strongly recommend and encourage you to sign up for Direct Deposit or use other methods of assessment payment. Please contact the Proprietary Office for further information on setting up Direct Deposit for your CountrySide account.

On December 31 we will do a final walk-through with the existing landlord to ensure all terms and conditions of our current lease have been met. We will use January 2, 2019 to ensure we are ready and “open for business” on January 3, 2019. All the Proprietary Office telephone numbers will remain the same as they are now, during this relocation.

Why are we moving? The lease terms under the new landlord are more compatible with our operations, and we expect to be saving close to $100,000.00 with our five-year lease. As other CountrySide expenses continue to rise, this move represents a significant effort to help mitigate those increasing costs. Note for Tenants

If you are a tenant in a CountrySide property, please contact your landlord to make sure all the necessary paperwork is filled out with the Proprietary, so that you will be able to get your 2018 Amenities Passes when the time comes.
